Daniel Speers
Shortly after the war in Iraq began, nineteen year old Speers joined the Army and served more than five years as a Chaplain's Assistant in Fort Hood's 1st Cavalry Division, half of which were spent serving in Iraq. It was here in the overwhelming environment of battle that the aspirations for a film career were realized.
Speers' newest film, Infinite, moves into the future, taking advantage of such things as green screen photography, CGI and custom-built sets. ''This is the next stepping stone in the process...it will enable me to develop even further as a director and writer as well as honing the crew for more future films.'' Speers sees the Sci Fi genre as an opportunity to get people thinking. ''I want to tell an amazing and deep story at the highest level possible.''
The combination of technical excellence and meaningful stories characterizes the ambitions Speers has for his film career. ''Constantly I am reminded that we have the ability to create our most beautiful dreams and our most terrifying nightmares. Recently I have seen a lot more nightmares coming to the theaters than beautiful dreams, and I'd like to make some dreams come true.''
